Ulverston’s local economy and independent character are threatened by two new superstores. We need your help!
Sainsbury’s have put in a planning application to build a superstore with a garage, cafe and car wash, on green fields next to the A590. The proposed store would be twice as big as the Council’s recent retail assessment said the town could cope with. At the same time, Robinsons Brewery want to build a supermarket on their site near the town centre.
If this is allowed to happen, the impact on our local traders and suppliers, on local jobs and on our town centre could be devastating. Please help stop it by writing to the council now to object.
